In the past, ClubOC has reviewed some mighty fast memory, but none has ever come across our lab rated at such a high speed.  Like most of you, in order for us to achieve speeds like these, we've had to do some pretty impressive overclocking.  Likewise, we have fried our share of hardware trying to achieve the ultimate overclock.  It's the risk we take when we overclock.  In this case, Corsair has decided to take the risk for us, and overclock their memory plus give us a lifetime warranty.  Don't worry, we're not letting them take all of the fun.  We are still going to overclock.  With the memory factory overclocked to the brink of destruction, I just don't know how much headroom this memory is going to have.  I can't wait to find out though.

DHX Technology

Corsair’s new DOMINATOR line of memory modules features innovative quad-layer heat sink design and Corsair’s patent-pending Dual-path Heat Xchange (DHX™) technology. DHX technology is the world’s most advanced memory module thermal dissipation technology where heat is dissipated through two paths - the leads of the BGA chips into the printed circuit board (PCB) and the back of the BGA packages into the high-performance extruded aluminum heat sinks.  Thanks to the advanced thermal design of the DOMINATOR, memory modules rated at scorching-fast 1142MHz operate with rock solid stability without the need of elevated voltage. The result of the combination of DHX technology and the high rated speed means PC enthusiasts can enjoy added performance edge at both stock speed and when overclocked.  The illustration below shows a cut apart view of the memory module.

Here's a ClubOC view of the Dual-path Heat Xchange.
