Ten years doesn't seem like that much time, but for a technology company like Crucial the ten year mark is a pretty major mile stone.  It is fitting that Crucial is celebrating with a Special Edition release of some of their award winning DDR2.  While not marketed like their performance Ballistix line, the attractive blue heat sinks and Crucial reputation were enough to get a set of these for the lab!  Check out how they performed right here at the Club!

Finding the Tenth Anniversary DDR2 on Crucial's website is done by clicking on the picture on their front page.  Interestingly enough I could not find it using the memory advisor or under the menu on the side of the site?!?  It seems the Special Edition nature of this DDR2 makes it an oddball product that does not show up on the DDR2 page or the Performance Memory pages.

Much like all of the new Crucial memory we have tested our Tenth Anniversary modules arrived in the standard cardboard box.  Included as well are a coupon for iolo's System Mechanic 6 for just $9.95 and a simple manual containing the product information and Crucial's outstanding Limited Lifetime Warranty.  As always, our shipping happened overnight and was free!

Out of the box, these modules look terrific!  Each stick is done in an attractive polished blue and embossed with the Crucial Anniversary 1996-2006 labeling on both sides.  The lack of any other labeling leaves nothing to distract from these distinctive looking units.

This new heat sink is based on the high performance Ballistix line seen here.  One of the most exciting things about Crucial's decision to create this Special Edition DDR2 is the possibility of other limited or custom runs in the future.  Much like OCZ's recent decision to create camouflaged memory modules, Crucial is recognizing the demand for memory that stands out from the crowd visually.  And this RAM looks even better in person!
