AeroCool
Acryshield, For Power Supply Modding
I remember the first time I walked into a
computer store that had modded cases in it. This with my new found love of
computers only fueled the fire even more I had to go home and attempt it on my
case. Unfortunately we are not all as gifted with power tools as we are with
computers. My attempt ended in a case sitting in the corner hacked to pieces
beyond recovery. Thanks to AeroCools' Acryshield those of us that are not able
to mod our case or power supply ourselves have an alternative. Not only that
but while those do it yourself types are still cutting on their power supply,
you will be back to playing your favorite game.
What’s included in the Package:

ioCombo.com was nice enough to send along an
80mm fan for this review. The fan is sold separately, so keep that in mind
when purchasing.
After looking at the product for about five
minutes and reading over the ioCombo site and the statement “you can now modify your old ugly power supply and
make it look like a brand new $150 power supply with titanium coating and
transparent look” I chose to put this to the test and went to dig
out a old 420 watt power supply that serves as a backup to my Antec. All I
have to say is that the AeroCool has its work cut out for it.

Installation:
The only tool needed for this is a Phillips
screwdriver. After attaching the fan to the Acryshield the next step is to
remove the screws from your power supply. Once the old cover is off you are
ready to replace it with the new one. One thing to keep in mind is that the
acrylic is going to add a little to the width of the power supply. No need to
worry, just take your time and it will slide into place. Screw the four screws
back in and the project is finished. Here is a picture of the finished
product.

Conclusion:
What a transformation this turned out to be!
Not only does this power supply look like an expensive one, it now has dual
fans. I really like this mod, it looks great especially for those of us with
window mods in our case. It also adds extra cooling which is something any
computer enthusiast is looking for.
The total time it took me to
complete this was around ten minutes, and that was with trying to find a
Phillips screwdriver in my house. It is a very solid product and highly
recommended for those that are attempting to mod for the first time and those
of us that are not power tool gifted. So head over to
ioCombo.com and pick up
this mod for only $15.95 in your choice of either neon green or ocean blue.
"Special for ClubOC visitors, enjoy $3 off marked price for the ocean blue /
neon green acryshield when you use the coupon cluboc1 at the checkout (coupon
