We get to have some fun with this review.  We aren't looking at any high tech, top-secret piece of hardware that hasn't been released to the public yet.  Today we are looking at some modding gear from PCToys.  Something that anyone can go buy and install. You don't have to worry about the price coming down so you can afford it either.  But, what these items are going to do for you, is make you the envy of all LAN goers.  You may not have the fastest computer at the LAN, but you are going to have one of the nicest looking cases.  Having neatly ran cables can increase your airflow, but it probably does more than that.  I just don't like looking into a case and seeing the rats nest that is in most computers.  Just about every top of the line computer case has a version with a window mod.  No one wants to look into your nice, new case and see tons of wires going all over the place.  In this review, we are going to take a case and re-wire it using the Techflex Sleeving kit, then we are going to fancy it up a bit with some Hypno Crystal Maxx fans.

This picture was not staged.  This is actually how the inside of the case looked.  Can you believe that this case belongs to a fellow computer geek?  When I first saw it, I thought I was going to have to stop being his friend.  I chose to help instead of running away in fright.  We are going to transform this computer into a computer that anyone would be proud to show off.  Let's get started with the cabling first.

PCToys was nice enough to send us a choice in the coloring of the sleeving.  They sent over a traditional blue and a little more wild, neon orange.  The Neon orange is UV reactive.  That means it will glow under a black light.

Product Contents

  • 10ft - 1/8" sleeving

  • 10ft - 1/4" sleeving

  • 10ft - 3/8" sleeving

  • 10ft - 1/2" sleeving

  • 12 color coordinated tie straps

  • 1ft - 9mm Heatshrink Tubing

  • 1ft - 18mm Heatshrink Tubing

  • 1ft - 24mm Heatshrink Tubing

This is not both packages combined.  This is how much is in each packaging.  There are tons of sleeving.  This is probably a good thing, since I'm sure we will mess up a few times.
