Vantec UV Reactive Slot Protector Kit

     Have you ever taken the side cover off of your PC to add a PCI card, and so much dust was caked in it that you couldn't even see the motherboard? Even a little bit of dust in you memory or PCI slots will cause a bad connection. Wouldn't it be nice if you could cover those slots somehow to keep them clean and dust free, or just to cover them to enhance the looks of you modded computer? Well now there is a product to do just that. Vantec has created a simple product that covers the PCI and memory slots on your motherboard. Not only are these covers functional, they look great!

     As of right now, the kits come in 5 colors, black, green, blue, yellow, and red. Of course some colors react better to UV light such as green, blue and red. While testing these under our UV light, the black and yellow reacted the least compared to the other bright colors. Each kit contains 5 PCI covers and 3 DDR covers.

The blue was my personal favorite. Even in a well lighted room, the covers still glowed quite brightly under a UV light.

Here are the covers with the lights dimmed. It almost looks like these covers have built in LEDs.

The red covers are pretty too, but they tend to look orange under the UV.

Conclusion

     The Slot Protector Kits work great and look great. If you're in to modding, these covers are a must have for cases with window mods. As far as keeping dust out of your PCI and memory slots, these covers are not air tight, but they will help. Once again, Vantec has created a simple product that everyone can benefit from!
