VIZO Ninja Notebook
Cooler
The people over at VIZO, a global manufacturer and designer of
computer peripheral products, have sent over a new notebook
cooler for us to check out. I don't believe I have ever heard of
VIZO until just recently, so my expectations of VIZO products
were not high. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I
received VIZO's Ninja Notebook Cooler. The Ninja Notebook Cooler
is a fine example of how to manufacture a high quality product
while at the same time keeping the product itself extremely
simple.

The Ninja is solid cast aluminum. No cheap plastic here. The
Ninja's one piece design is extremely durable, yet light weight.
Even though the Ninja is light, only about 1050 g, it really
isn't something you want to carry around with you, but it is
perfect for those who use a notebook computer at their desk. The
Ninja is designed to enhance your comfort level while typing, at
the same time help keep your notebook computer cool. There are
some nice notebook coolers out there with some fancy designs and
features like built in USB hubs, but VIZO elected to concentrate
on a durable, high quality product that you can rely on.

Even the fan guards and mounts are solid aluminum. There are 4
little rubber feet to help keep the Ninja in place while sitting
on your desk.

As I said before, the Ninja is not something I would take with
me on the road. Not just because it's a little bulky, but
because of power usage. The Ninja does not have it's own power
supply. Instead, it has a power adapter cable that goes from a
USB port to the Ninja. This doesn't mean you couldn't buy one of
those universal power supplies to use, it just doesn't come with
one.

The above photo
shows the power port and power switch.

Here we see a notebook computer sitting on top of the Ninja. The
Ninja feels completely solid and does a great job of holding the
Notebook in place. The Ninja's fans are very quit too. I was
unable to hear any fan noise over my notebooks internal fans. As
far as keeping the notebook cool, it will really depend on the
design of your particular notebook computer. However, any air
movement under the notebook helps. We all know that any extra
cooling will extend the life of any computer as well as help
keep the system more stable.
CONCLUSION
Although the VIZO Ninja Notebook Cooler has no extra features,
it tops my list of the best Notebook Coolers available. It would
be nice if it had an integrated USB Hub, but sometimes it's best
if you just keep things simple like VIZO has. If all VIZO's
products are as well made at the Ninja, then I expect great
things from this company in the years to come.
