Recently I had the chance to review Ultra Products
flagship power supply; the X-Finity 800 Watt. Today we will be
looking at Ultra's more serious side in the Ultra X-Pro. Ultra is
marketing this power supply as a combination of a gaming power supplies
good looks and high output with the stability and durability of a server
power supply. We put the X-Pro 800 W to the test right here at the
Club!

Its no surprise the X-Pro packaging looks a lot like
that of the
X-Finity power supply after all they are the same company and the
same wattage right? In Fact, with the exception of the color
scheme they are exactly the same. Since both the X-Pro and the X-Finity
are nearly identical I will be focusing this review on the differences
between the two products and the testing.

Right down to the connections and the rails, the X-Pro
is a spitting image of the X-Finity with the sole exception of the
FlexForce cabling and the Black Anodized finish. Lets take a look
at the specifications.

What is
AST (After Spin Technology)? |
| After Spin
Technology is used to quiet the system and aid in prolonging the
life of your components. Connectors for chassis fans are
thermostatically controlled; RPM's are reduced when temperatures
inside the case are low. PSU, chassis and CPU fan connectors
remain spinning several minutes after the PC is powered down
allowing the system to gradually cool down after use. |
