Almost exactly one year ago, OCZ shocked the overclocking community
by purchasing PC Power & Cooling. Ever since, the enthusiast
community has waited with bated breath to see the children from this
fated marriage. Well, cradled in my arms, I now hold one of
the dear children. Now, when we looked at the PC Power &
Cooling
Silencer 610, we concluded that it was a great power supply;
however there were some interesting design philosophies that I felt were holding back the company. It will now be
interesting to see how these design philosophies seep their way into
the OCZ-branded product.
Out of Box Experience:

The particular model that we are examining today is the 800W; the
EliteXStream also comes in 900W and 1000W flavors. The front
of the box claims 80% efficiency, good cooling, Active PFC and SLI
readiness.

The back of the box claims much of the same, as well as OCZ's five
year warranty and tech support.

Upon opening the box, we find everything is well packed. Not
as fancy as some others I have seen, however we all know that isn't
nearly as important as what is inside.

The contents of the box include about what you would expect: the power supply itself, a cord, screws, zip-ties, and a full color
manual.
