As an avid gamer and LAN party enthusiast I am constantly on the look out for the ultimate set of surround sound headphones.  Tritton technologies flagship 5.1 headphones, the AX360, are an indispensable part of my gaming arsenal.  Today I am excited to take a closer look at their PC specific model, the AXPC headphones.  Can a set of USB 5.1 headphones provide the same outstanding performance we have grown accustomed to from Tritton?  Lets find out!

The AX PC headphones arrive in an eye catching orange blister pack that shows the new headphone design clearly.  The same color as the AXPC headphones, this metallic orange is definitely a change of pace from the soft blue color of the AX360s.

The back of the packaging is devoted to clearly describing the features and specifications you can expect from the AXPCs.  For your convenience I have listed the key features for you below.

The packaging holds the AXPCs firmly in place and shows pretty much everything about the product up front.  Tritton includes a carry bag to hold things so the packaging is quickly discarded.

Our first look at the AXPCs shows the combination of black mesh backing and the metallic orange finish comes off much more attractive than it sounds.  Each earphone is nicely padded with nearly a half inch of padding.  The same padding is used across the top of the strap.

The design of the microphone is quite sturdy and can be removed via the gold plated plug mounted on the swivel.  The mesh design helps reduce weight and bleeds very little noise from the speakers.  Orange or not, these babies look pretty sweet in person.
